Also includes article on the historical attributes of Wick and the need to preserve the character and buildings of the town.
Administrative HistoryThe Wick Society was founded in 1971. In 1974 a small museum was opened in Wick Library. This proved so successful that in 1979 Caithness District Council offered the Society the use of some empty buildings in Bank Row, Wick, which opened to the public as Wick Heritage Centre in 1981.
