Administrative History | The Clachan Exhibition (Highland Village) - Architect Colin Sinclair F.R.I.B.A. to show a complete Highland Village with nine buildings made from plaster moulds of actual houses. There was a 'Chief's Castle, a smithy, a post office, a weaver's cottage, a "black house" and an inn. In addition there was a loch c.45m (150ft) long fed by a 'mountain burn'. Held in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park 1938. |
