Administrative History | Sir George Cospatrick Duff-Sutherland Dunbar of Hempriggs, 7th Bt. was born on 3 August 1906. He was the son of Sir George Duff-Sutherland Dunbar of Hempriggs, 6th Bt. and Sybil Hawtrey Tate. He died on 4 February 1963 at age 56, unmarried. He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England. He then attended New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1931 and entitled to practice as a barrister. He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the during the Second World War. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Caithness in 1955. He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Dunbar, of Hempriggs, co. Caithness [N.S., 1706] on 8 April 1962. |
