Administrative History | Barbara Tait, Alexander Brotchie, George Coghill and James Clyne Tait were accused of setting fire to a stack of straw at the farm of Greenvale, Dunnet parish, property of William Mackenzie, Castletown, Olrig parish on 20 June 1925. Ill feeling seems to have arisen following the eviction of Mrs Tait from her home. In a separate incident, a house was burned down, with the suspicion that the water pump had been deliberately put out of action. A "not proven" verdict was returned. |
