| Administrative History | Reverend Douglas Briggs was Church of Scotland minister at Central Church, Wick from 1945, then Lybster, Caithness from 1950 until he was transferred to Bower on 1st November 1960. He retired from the ministry on 31 March 1970. His 2nd marriage was to Marion Stewart Morgan (Mora)(d.30 Nov 1991) on 28 April 1970. He died at 1 Breadalbane Crescent, Wick on 23rd October 1984, aged 81, and was buried in Bower cemetery. His papers were gifted to the North Highland Archive by his brother-in-law, Robert K. Morgan. (Mr. Morgan was also a lay preacher and some of the collection may be attributable to him though it is difficult to say specifically which, as much of the work is undated.) |
