TitleThe History of the Town and County Hospital 1910-1941 and two plans of Dounreay Airfield
Date2009
Administrative HistoryThe Town and County Hospital was built in 1910 as a fever hospital, replacing an existing fever hospital at Harmsworth Park near the new cemetery in Wick. There was a tragic accident on 25 April 1941 when an RAF bomber hit the accommodation block, killing two maids and all of the aircrew, and largely destroying the building in the ensuing fire. The Town and County Hospital now offers assessments for patients with cognitive or memory problems, and also palliative care.
