Administrative HistoryAccording to N.M. Glass, "Caithness and the War" (1948) p.4, the German Heinkel had been raiding Orkney and had been damaged, and had chosen to land at Wick aerodrome rather than ditch in the sea. Two of the crew were killed and the other two were made prisoners.
