Administrative History | Duncan Buchanan Sutherland was born at Latheronwheel c.1914. With the onset of World War Two he enlisted in the York and Lancaster Regiment, serving as a Captain mainly in the Middle East campaigns; he died, aged 30, on 22 Nov 1944, whilst on active service in Italy. These poems, written whilst he was a student in Aberdeen, reflect his strong affinity with Caithness and the Dunbeath area in particular. |
