Administrative History | Robert Morris, the son of John Morris and Jessie Flemington, was born in 1843 at Greenland, Caithness. In addition to becoming a practising veterinary surgeon, he farmed at Reiss Lodge in the parish of Olrig. He was appointed Inspector of Infectious Diseases in Cattle for the County of Caithness in Sept 1865, a position he held for over fifty years. Robert Morris married Alexandrina Geddes on 25 Dec 1867 and together they had seven children. He died in 1920 at Reiss Lodge. |
