Administrative HistoryGeorge and Nan Bethune are both keen local historians who have pursued their interest into local places and people over many years. George has written and present various talks of local interest such as thatching and the development of the ice houses in Caithness. Both are regular visitors to the Caithness Archives and in a written tribute to the archive service George describes it as “a place where the past comes alive”.
Nan has documented the first five years of her life spent in Telford Street in Wick as part of a Scottish Ethnology project and incorporates both personal and historical facts on the development of Lower Pultneytown.
