Administrative History | Prior to 1967, both water supply and sewerage provision was the responsibility of the local councils- both town (Royal Burgh of Wick) and county (Caithness). From 1967- 1975 water supply was the responsibility of North of Scotland Water Board, with sewerage provided by the appropriate town and county councils. From 1975- 1996 Highland Regional Council Water and Sewerage Department was responsible for both water and sewerage, followed by the North of Scotland Water Authority from 1996- 2002. From 2002 to time of writing, water supply and sewerage in Caithness is the responsibility of Scottish Water |
