Administrative HistoryPapers of Jane Durham M.B.E. (1924-1997), reflecting her interest and involvement with Scotland's heritage, in particular the threat to Scotland's many historic buildings and archaeological sites. Mrs Durham campaigned vigorously to save many local buildings including Tain Academy and Rosskeen Parish Church, and even started her own company to rescue and renovate houses threatened with demolition. She was Vice President of the Agricultural Heritage Society of Scotland and a trustee of various organisations including the Highland Buildings Preservation Trust and the Scottish Redundant Churches Trust. As a member of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland from 1984-1994, she also had special responsibility for the National Monuments Record.
