Administrative HistoryThe Club was formed at a Public Meeting in Boat of Garten on 6 November 1924. The first President appointed was Major Reed. The first female President, Miss Sangster, was appointed in 1935. During the "disastrous moorland fire" of 6 May 1942, the clubhouse was destroyed and only one curling match was played that season - "a very mild winter". On Christmas Day 1950, a match was played on Milton Loch and throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Grantown and Carrbridge provided the regular opposition.
The resignation of one of the trustees in 1978 was triggered by the Club "being in the process of being wound-up and handed over to the Local Community Council". There is no documentary evidence of this event taking place although neither is there any evidence of Club financial activity between 1979 and 1994. Indeed there are no documents in this collection that record any Club activity in the 1980s. Between 1995 and 1999, the Club did not call an AGM.
