DescriptionFerintosh Village Hall, 1931-39; Ferintosh Home Guard, 1940s; Urquhart (Ross) War Memorial, 1920-54; Ferintosh Welcome Home Fund, 1945-48
Administrative HistoryFerintosh, situated on the Black Isle, was formerly a detached section of Nairnshire having been annexed to the County of Ross and Cromarty in 1891and currently makes up the central district of the parish of Urquhart and Logie Wester. The place name Ferintosh can also refer to the Estate of Ferintosh which was purchased in the late 17th century by the Forbes of Culloden, it can also be an alternative name for the parish of Urquhart and Logie Wester as a whole.
Ferintosh Village Hall lies on what is now the B9169 in Easter Kinkell and was constructed in 1932 under the authority of the Ferintosh Hall Building Committee with the help of a Carnegie Grant.

The Ferintosh Home Guard was No.22 Platoon, C Company of the 1st Battalion Ross-shire Home Guard. The 1st Battalion were affiliated to the Seaforth Highlanders and led by Lieutenant Colonel Sir John Dick-Lauder with their headquarters at Nigg.

The Urquhart (Ross) War Memorial can be found in Conon Bridge at the corner of High Street and Leanaig Road. It consists of a polished stone decorated Celtic cross on a stone blockwork base and was built around 1920 under the guidance of the War Memorial Committee to commemorate the fallen of the First World War. The names of the fallen of the Second World War were added at a later date.

Welcome Home Funds were established in communities up and down the country at the end of WWII with the aim of raising funds to aid ex-servicemen and host welcome home celebrations and the Ferintosh Welcome Home Fund is one such example established in line with the War Charities Act 1940.
The organisation of the village hall, the war memorial and the welcome home fund all appear to have been undertaken under the auspices of the Reverend John Sellar, minister of the parish of Urquhart and Logie Wester, with links to the kirk session.
