Administrative History | David Sinclair was born on 18th February 1883 at Woodside, Cromarty to John Sinclair and Jessie Bain. On the 3rd June 1919 he married Jessie Ann Ross at the Parish Church, Inverness and together they had six children, David John Sinclair, b. 28th April 1921; Marion Elizabeth Sinclair (Elma), b. 8th January 1923; Jessie Ann Sinclair, b. 27th March 1925; Helen Ross Sinclair, b. 25th January 1927; James Sinclair, b. 12th June 1929; and Peter Shaw Sinclair, b. 9th April 1931. He worked as a farm hand across various farms on the Black Isle eventually becoming a farm manager. Upon his retirement he was a farm manager at the Tower of Fairburn, Urray. As a young man he had wished to join the ministry, but not having the means to attend university he studied with the minister of the Resolis Free Church. During this time he wrote several sermons under the guidance of the minister. David Sinclair died on 20th December 1960 at 6 Marybank, Urray. |
