Administrative HistoryChristopher J Uncles was born in Brighton in 1938 and was educated at Rushen Central School, Port St. Mary, Isle of Man and Hove College. He joined Lloyds Bank in 1955, serving his career in Sussex with managerial appointments in Southwick, followed by three more in Brighton. He retired in June 1993. His first book Last Ferry to Skye was published in 1995. Christopher J Uncles is an author of multiple books regarding the history of the Highlands including Inverness and the Great Glen, Wester Ross, Lochaber, Sutherland, Easter Ross and the Black Isle, Caithness and Skye, as well as the Western Isles, Argyllshire, Orkney, Shetland and Perthshire.
