Administrative History | Robert John MacKay has been described as “grocer, author, song-writer, playwright, community leader and the Provost of Embo”. He had a long career as a railway clerk before returning to Embo to run the general store. In 1943 he published “Old Days in a Highland Village”. He was the Chair of the Dornoch & Creich District Council, the local Justice of the Peace and a founder member of Lodge Loch Shin (1352). |
