Administrative HistoryAt the Disruption in 1843 a number of adherents of the Free Church in the Presbytery of Inverness, formed themselves into a congregation, initially known as the English congregation and latterly as the High congregation. Services were conducted firstly in the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Inverness, and subsequently in Bell's School, Inverness. In 1843 a church was built to house the congregation. In 1852 a new church was erected and a manse constructed in 1863. In 1900 the Free Church of Scotland merged with the United Presbyterian Church to form the United Free Church and the congregation became Inverness High United Free Church
