Administrative History | Sir Roderick Mackenzie, fourth Baronet and seventh of Scatwell was the eldest son and heir of Sir Lewis Mackenzie, third Baronet and sixth of Scatwell and Isabella, eldest daughter of Colin Mackenzie, first of Mountgerald. In 1764 he married Katharine, daughter of Sir James Colquhoun of Luss. In 1795 he built a mansion on the estate of Pittonachty which was thereafter named after the neighbouring estate of Rosehaugh. He died in 1811 and was succeeded by his eldest surviving son, Sir James Wemyss Mackenzie (1770-1843), fifth Baronet and eighth of Scatwell, MP and Lord-Lieutenant for the county of Ross |
